 The
IAP is a prototype electrically powered flight control actuator. It
features a brushless DC motor, variable displacement pump, and local
control electronics. The actuator was developed to study and
evaluate various aspects of power-by-wire actuation. The variable
displacement pump allows the coupling ratio between the motor and output
rod to vary.
