 Dynamic Controls, Inc. designed and built an automatic
receiver positioning system to track the movement of experimental ramjet
nozzles under test. The
system provided motion tracking of the nozzle in X, Y and Z-axes and
during ramjet operations maintained the receiver-nozzle clearance within 0.004 inches.
The electro-hydraulic control system included automatic failure
detection and shutdown as part of the design.
